Who is Paskie?
I am Paskie Rokus, born in 1953 in Arnhem. I have been painting since I was fourteen and started selling my professional work at eighteen. Although I studied Dutch and History at VU Amsterdam, my true passion was always painting.

A True Family Business
Our business is run by myself, my daughter-in-law Martina, and my son Paskie Jr. Together, we form a close-knit team where everyone has their own specialty. I prefer to be behind the canvas, focusing entirely on the creative process. Martina handles the organization of events, networking meetings, and all communications. Paskie Jr. is responsible for marketing and our company's complete online presence.

Style and Development
My work began in the surrealist style of Dalí, but quickly evolved into a looser, more expressively abstract body of work. I work with various techniques and prefer large canvases with a lot of color.

My abstract paintings combine dynamic lines, subtle drawings, and my own texts, resulting in energetic, expressive works. Symbolism often reappears in organic and geometric forms, and the colors are often bright and optimistic.

In addition to my free work, I also paint on commission, where the style, colors, and dimensions are determined in consultation with the client.

Inspiration
My inspiration comes from various art forms: from literature and music to film, theater, and painting. I am always fascinated by art in all its forms. Painters who inspire me include Dalí, Gubbels, de Chirico, Picasso, and Kandinsky.

My music choices range from classical composers like Wagner and Brahms to contemporary artists such as Ibrahim Maalouf and Spinvis.
